Your writing stays yours
Story Mining is a private space for reflection. This page explains, in plain language, everything the site keeps and everything it never sees.
Your reflections never leave your browser
Every word you write — memories, incidents, meanings, story ideas, the names you give your reflections, and your unfinished drafts — is stored only in your own browser on the device you are using. It is not uploaded, not backed up, and not readable by us or by anyone else.
Because the writing lives on your device, clearing your browser data, using private browsing, or switching to another device or browser will make it disappear. Exporting a reflection to PDF creates a file that is generated on your device and saved wherever you choose.
Anonymous activity counts
So we can tell how much the tools are being used, the site records a small counter when a reflection is started, when a reflection is completed, and when a story spark is saved. Each counter holds only three things:
- the type of event (started, completed, or spark saved)
- the name of the tool it happened in, such as Look for the Lesson
- the date and time it happened
No account, no name, no email, no cookie or tracking identifier, and none of your writing is attached to these counters. They cannot be traced back to you or linked together into a profile, and they are shown only as totals and daily charts on a private page.
Messages you choose to send
If you use the “Get in touch” form, the name, email address, and message you type are stored so we can read and reply. That information is only what you enter yourself, it is used for nothing else, and it is never sold, shared, or used for marketing.
No tracking, no advertising, no AI reading your work
There are no advertising tags, no analytics trackers that follow you across other sites, and no third-party profiling. Your reflections are never analysed, interpreted, or used to train any AI system.
Cookies
This site does not use cookies. Your reflections are kept in your browser's own storage on this device, and nothing is stored to follow you, identify you, or recognise you across other sites.
Deleting your information
You can remove all of your writing at any time by deleting your saved reflections inside the app or by clearing your browser data for this site — that removes it completely, because nothing was stored anywhere else. If you have sent a message through the contact form and would like it deleted, ask in a reply and it will be removed.
Questions
If anything here is unclear, use the “Get in touch” tab at the bottom of any page and ask.
